This workshop will focus on the use of AAC&U VALUE rubrics in course and program assessment. The MT Engage program uses a modified version of the VALUE rubrics for Integrative Thinking and Reflection and ePortfolio. Dr. Gambino and attendees will discuss how these or other rubrics can not only document, but improve learning in courses and programs, and how ePortfolio as a high impact practice supports integrative learning and the assessment of student learning.

Dr. Laura M. Gambino is Vice President of the New England Commission of Higher Education. She previously served as Associate Dean for Assessment and Technology at Guttman Community College. Dr. Gambino is the author of “Innovation in Action: iPASS, Sutdent Success, and Transformative Institutional Change” (Planning for Higher Education, January 2017) about Guttman’s guided learning pathway and Integrated Planning and Advising for Student Success initiatives. She is co-author, with Bret Eynon, of High-Impact ePortfolio Practice: A Catalyst for Student, Faculty and Institutional Learning (2017) and Catalyst in Action: Case Studies of High-Impact EPortfolio Practice (2018). Dr. Gambino’s visit is funded by the National Institute for Learning Outcomes and Assessment (NILOA), for which she serves as a NILOA Assessment Coach and as an Excellence in Assessment Peer Evaluator.
