Class Visits and Workshops
UWC staff can visit your classroom for a 5-10 minute presentation covering the many services that the Writing Center has to offer your students. If desired, instructors may provide details about the types of writing projects that will be assigned, and consultants can tailor the brief presentation to focus on the most relevant Writing Center services and resources. For a preview of what will be covered during the class visit presentation, instructors can access our Class Visit PowerPoint.
If you are teaching an online course or are unable to schedule a class visit during operational hours, download our digital Class Visit Video to embed in your course shell or to use on your own.
The UWC can assist your students by conducting 45-minute workshops on specific writing topics. We currently offer the following workshops: APA Citations and Academic Integrity, MLA Citations and Academic Integrity, and Poster and Pitch for poster presentations and elevator pitches. You can inquire about creating a specialized workshop for your class by filling out the form below. Because these workshops are tailored to meet the needs of your students, we ask that writing workshops be requested at least a month in advance. For other questions about writing workshops, contact UWC Assistant Director Keri Carter at Keri.Carter@mtsu.edu.
MTEngage / ePortfolio Class Visits and Workshops
The UWC and MT Engage work together to support MT Engage students in your class working on their ePortfolio. Our MT Engage Program Coordinator is available to conduct 10-15 minute MT Engage class visits covering how the UWC supports students during the ePortfolio writing process.
Additionally, our MT Engage Program Coordinator can provide 45-minute workshops that are course-specific as well as general workshops that are related to ePortfolio creation. To schedule an MT Engage class visit or workshop, contact UWC Assistant Director Keri Carter at Keri.Carter@mtsu.edu.
