A social business is a non-loss, no-dividend company. It aims to achieve a social,
ethical, or environmental goal while being financially self-sufficient.
- Social Business Type 1 - refers to social businesses that create a product that has a direct social impact.
For example, Shakti Doi, the fortified yoghurt, directly fights malnutrition.
- Social Business Type II - functions as a profit-maximizing business of which the net profits go toward a trust
for the benefit of disadvantaged groups or as shareholder dividends to poor people.
