Congratualtions to Emily Webb (Global Sudies major - class of 2018). Emily was recently
accepted
into the Global Higher Education Master's Program at the Universidad de Alcalá in
Madrid, Spain.

A big shout out to Eric Goodwin! Eric was awarded the 2020 June McCash Honors Enrichment Scholarship for his honors thesis titled “In Whose Tennessee Mountains? Heritage tourism, authenticity, and perceptions of place on the Cumberland Plateau” It is a fantastic scholarly piece and our department is very proud of him!
Congratulations to Global Studies major, Brittney Johnson for being offered an English Teaching Assistant position for the Fulbright Student Program in Spain! Brittney has previously won the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship!
Congratulations to Nancy Quinones for being one of the recepients of the Nashvillians of the Year Award along with the rest of her coworkers at the Tennessee Immigrants and Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC). TIRRC advocates for immigrants and refugees across the state. Nancy has been integral part of their team, working to educate and empower Tennessee's diverse immigrant communities. Nancy recently graduated with a degree in Global Studies and Human Geography with a focus on contemporary immigration and community activism. She is applying what she learned at MTSU to forge a better future for Nashville.
