FAQ

"My playlists don't work anymore for my students" or students are receiving an "Oops it's not you. It's us . . ." Message

Playlists FAQ screenshotOne big change from Lynda to LiL is that people can no longer share playlists that they have created unless they are a sub-admin of the system and created it under Collections. They can still share individual videos, but they will need to be made sub-admin in order to share a playlist (now known as Collections). We are looking at ways to make all instructors sub-admins, but until then, they can request this through a work order assigned to Alana Johnson. Unfortunately they also have to recreate the playlist.

Here is how to create a collection, once they have admin permissions:
  1. Sign in to LiL and click on “Go to Admin” on the upper right
  2. Click on “Content” in the menu at the top of the screen
  3. Click on “Collections” just below the top menu
  4. Click on “Create new”
  5. Once you have created your collection and added the videos, you can click on ellipses (More actions) and recommend or get a shareable link.

Links to my Lynda videos in D2L are broken or not getting redirected to LinkedIn Learning

LiL did not place redirects on the videos from Lynda. Unfortunately that means that links in D2L need to be manually updated.

Here is how to update links in D2L

  1. First you must find the link that you want to change and hit the dropdown to the right of the link. Choose “Edit Link”

To find the Linkedin Learning app in Office 365

  1. Sign in to office.com
  2. Click on the tiles icon in the upper left hand corner (Access your Office 365 apps)
  3. Click on “All apps”
  4. Click on Linkedin Learning under “Admin selected apps” or to pin the app, hover over Linkedin Learning, click the 3 dots on the right and select “Pin to launcher”

When I sign into my LinkedinLearning account, it asks me to sign in again and when I put in my MTSU credentials again it doesn't work

It sounds like you connected your Linkedin Learning account to your personal Linkedin account after the migration from Lynda to Linkedin. If you have done this, you will have to enter your personal Linkedin credentials at the Linkedin login page after you have signed in with your MTSU credentials.

Lil login FAQ

Do I have to connect my account to Linkedin or what if I connected my account and I don't want it connected anymore?

We recommend that you do not connect your account because it can be very confusing to people while logging in, as it does ask for your personal Linkedin credentials every time you log in. Also, once the account is connected, it is difficult to undo it at this time and requires either contacting Linkedin or an administrator removing your license.
