Studio M immerses students in video journalism

Studio Mwhich stands for media, MTSU, and Murfreesboro—focuses on a "teaching hospital" approach to journalism. Students have the opportunity to cover issues that impact the community, including employment, health care, the economy, education, student loan debt, gender pay gap, religion, race, and diversity. Click on the link to see coverage of local stories, national, and international (France) that are all student created. Studio M launched in 2016 with a $50,000 grant from the John S. and James L. Knight FoundationThe Tennessean committed $10,000, and BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee contributed $25,000. 

Kappa Tau Alpha Chapter

KTA CrestThe College of Mass Communication has received approval for a chapter of Kappa Tau Alpha, a national journalism and mass communication honor society. KTA is the seventh oldest national honor society and is dedicated to the encouragement and recognition of excellence in scholarship. KTA is awarded to students ranking in the top 10 percent of their junior, senior or graduate classes.
