Nutrition Resources for Tennessee High Schools

Hello Tennessee High School Nutrition Teachers!

This website is under currently under construction.  When complete, it will assist you in teaching the class Nutrition Across the LIfespan  at the secondary level.  The resources align with Tennessee’s State Standards for Nutrition Across the Lifespan and coincide with MTSU’s new Introduction to Nutrition and WellnessThis site includes PowerPoint notes, study sheets, teacher answer sheets, plus a variety of activities and assignments,

We are excited to introduce our new OER@MT digital book that aligns with Tennessee’s high school Nutrition Across the Lifespan class.  The book is divided into 12 units beginning with one on Food and Kitchen Safety and ending with units on Lifespan Nutrition and  Food and Nutrition Issues.

After students complete the high school Nutrition Across the Life Span class,  they will have the option to take our Dual Credit Challenge Exam to earn three hours of college credit toward MTSU’s NFS 1240 Principles of Nutrition.  The credits may be used at MTSU or transferred to other colleges and universities. The other university  determine if they accept the “credit by exam.”

If you have questions,  please contact Janet Colson  at [email protected] or call 615 898 2091.
