How to Apply
Transfer Pathways
Tennessee Transfer Pathways
The Tennessee Transfer Pathway (TTP) system is a statewide initiative designed to help community college students make a smooth transition into university degree programs. Students at state community colleges can choose from a number of participating AA or AS degrees and take the specific courses listed for that program. After completing the AA or AS degree, students can transfer to MTSU and be assured all credits will transfer into the corresponding 4-year program at the university. This guarantee allows students to stay on track for graduation while being able to stay at a local community college for the first two years of school.
Degree Advancement
Degree Advancement (DA) opportunities are designed to help students in specific degree programs at state community colleges complete a Bachelor of Science degree at MTSU upon completion of their 2-year degree. These Degree Advancement plans are typically associated with degrees that are not on the Transfer Pathway, those degrees without an Articulation Agreement, and those programs whose credits do not easily transfer to a 4-year university. Most Degree Advancements are aimed at completing a degree in Professional Studies after receiving an Associate of Applied Science from an area community college.
Articulation Agreements
An Articulation Agreement (AA) is a specific agreement between MTSU and another state university or community college between two degree programs. This agreement is designed to provide a clear set of courses that can be taken at both institutions to gain a degree at both places. These are typically degrees that are not offered on a Tennessee Transfer Pathway and have specific classes that need to be transferred from school to school for successful degree completion. Articulation Agreements are used to help students complete two programs in a timely manner without a loss of credit in the transfer of classes.
