Chemistry, ACS Certified Concentration, B.S.
Chemistry is central to many scientific fields of study and chemists are involved in solving in the world's greatest challenges such as climate change, disease, and clean energy. At MTSU you'll build a strong background in the traditional areas of chemistry — analytical, biochemistry, inorganic, organic, and physical mentored research and internship courses, and plenty of electives to choose from, such as computational, environmental, medicinal, and polymer chemistry.
This degree is accredited by the American Chemical Society. Following this curriculum, students get a broad and deep background in chemistry. A degree in Chemistry prepares students to think critically and creatively as effective problem solvers. Graduates can expect to find employment in a wide variety of fields. The ACS-accredited degree is recommended for students intending to pursue graduate degrees (Ph.D.), top-level professional degrees (medical, dental), or lucrative industry or government lab jobs.

MTSU offers a comprehensive Career Development Center that serves students throughout the full student experience and beyond. They collaborate with faculty and staff to equip students with the tools to be marketable to the world of work and continuing education.
