About the Speaker


Jamie Mayer, Ph.D., CCC-SLP
Dr. Jamie Mayer is a speech-language pathologist and faculty member of the Northern Illinois University School of Allied Health & Communicative Disorders.  She teaches undergraduate courses in neuroscience and anatomy and graduate courses in the pathophysiology, assessment, and rehabilitation of neurogenic communication disorders, as well as medical speech language pathology.  Her research and publication interests focus on the relationship between language and traditionally "non-linguistic" cognitive processes in adults with aphasia, and the utilization of that relationship to enhance assessment and treatment of aphasia, alexia, and agraphia in such individuals.
