As girl singer with the World-Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, Julia Rich toured for 25 years, performing in venues from Iceland to Brazil including the Hollywood Bowl, Lincoln Center, the Blue Note, the Montreal Jazz Festival, the World’s Fair in Seville, and Orchard Hall in Tokyo (during 24 tours of Japan); working alongside such luminaries as Rosemary Clooney, the Mills Brothers, the Four Freshmen, Mel TormeĢ, Helen O'Connell, the Count Basie Orchestra, et al. In addition to filling the girl singer chair, Rich led the GMO’s Moonlight Serenaders vocal group (17 years) and was road manager or assistant road manager (11 years). She served several years as a booking agent for the the Glenn Miller Orchestra and other historic big bands and has sung as guest vocalist with both the Tommy Dorsey and Cab Calloway Orchestras.

Rich is featured on several Glenn Miller Orchestra recordings and appeared in 2 PBS specials with the band and other celebrities. Tracks including originals from her 5 solo albums are featured on TV’s Music Choice: Singers and Swing, alongside selections by Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra. Her original songs have been performed by the Glenn Miller Orchestra including "The Irises" as part of their symphony repertoire. Rich’s “If I Spoke French” was designated an Album Pick by allmusic.com.

Rich has performed solo in Nashville, New York, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Osaka, The Shoals, and on the high seas. She was an original member of the Chattanooga Choo Choo's Station House Gang.
