The Start of the Pantry

In Fall 2012, MT One Stop and the Student Government Association (SGA) started a student food pantry for MTSU students who were unsure where their next meal was going to come from. Due to an increasing number of hungry college students, it was important to address this need on our campus. As the need continues. we hope that we are able to address the needs of our student body through the food pantry.

MTSU joined the College and University Food Bank Alliance (CUFBA) in March 2017, which joins institutions with established food pantries or ones looking to start a food pantry. The items for our food pantry are stocked from food drives, individual and group donations, as well as monetary donations. The MTSU Student Food Pantry has grown tremendously over the years and with the increased growth and demand we have been able to serve students from a variety of circumstances and backgrounds.

Know a Student Who is Hungry?

If you know an MTSU student who is hungry and/or in between meals, please send them to the MT One Stop. Our coordinators will gladly assess the student’s need and help them find items from the pantry.

In conjunction with the food pantry, we are able to assist students that may have more long-term needs through our relationships with community partners. Often we are able to direct students to www.h3arc.com for community resources when we are not able to address their needs with on-campus resources. That information is found under Helpful Community Resources.

Interested in Donating to the Pantry? Online donating available, too!

We all know students that are going hungry. Please help us stock the food pantry with some of the items listed below to help feed MTSU students! All donations can be brought to the MT One Stop, located in the Student Services and Admissions Center, Room 210. The MT One Stop is open Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. We encourage student groups, offices, residence halls, etc. to get together and collect items to donate. You can also donate online using the link in the LEFT navigation panel. Please be mindful of expiration dates as we cannot hand out expired food.

What Items are Needed?

We will keep this site updated to reflect needs. As we run low on a particular item, we will highlight them, but will gladly accept donations outside of the current "high need". We will also include which items we currently have well stocked. Please keep in mind that donations should include non-perishable items that can be easily prepared or eaten as packaged. We have also recently started accepting small toiletry and personal care items.
