How to Apply
Tennessee Direct Admissions
A simpler path to becoming a Blue Raider

Middle Tennessee State University is proud to participate in Tennessee Direct Admissions, an initiative designed to make the college admissions process easier and more accessible for Tennessee students.
Through Direct Admissions, eligible high school seniors may receive an admission offer from participating colleges and universities before completing a traditional college application. The program helps students better understand their college options early in their senior year and take the next steps toward enrollment.
Whether you received an MTSU Direct Admissions offer or are exploring your path to becoming a Blue Raider, this page will help you understand what Direct Admissions means and what comes next.
Did you receive a Direct Admissions offer?
Yes — I received an MTSU offer. What happens next?
Your next steps are:
- Confirm your interest in attending MTSU
- Review your Direct Admissions offer and select MTSU as one of the schools you want to be accepted for admission for.
- Complete your enrollment requirements
- Follow instructions from MTSU to activate your student account, submit required documents, and complete any outstanding requirements.
- Apply for financial aid and scholarships
- Admission and financial aid are separate processes. Complete the FAFSA and explore scholarship opportunities to understand your options for paying for college. To be considered for MTSU’s freshman guaranteed scholarships, MTSU must receive your official high school transcript and qualifying test scores by December 1.
- Prepare for your first semester
- Check your MTSU email regularly, explore housing options, and complete orientation.
Your journey to becoming a Blue Raider starts here.
No — I did not receive a Direct Admissions offer. Can I still attend MTSU?
Not receiving a Direct Admissions offer does not mean you cannot be admitted to MTSU. Direct Admissions is one pathway to admission, and students who do not receive an offer are encouraged to complete the regular MTSU admission process.
MTSU welcomes students from across Tennessee and beyond, and our admissions team is here to help you understand your options and take the next step.
