Animal Science, Industry and Production Concentration, B.S.

The Animal Science, Industry and Production Concentration major is intended for undergraduate students interested in careers in animal agriculture, animal husbandry, or allied areas, upon completing their B.S. degree. As such, the curriculum is designed to focus on foundational areas of the animal sciences, while giving students the opportunity to tailor their program in specific areas through elective choices.

The Animal Science, Industry and Production Concentration major in the School of Agriculture prepares undergraduate students for careers in animal agriculture and other areas within the animal sciences by equipping them with knowledge and skills to:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of core concepts in livestock and poultry management, health, welfare, genetics, reproduction, and nutrition.
  • Analyze complex situations which impact agricultural animal production and synthesize strategies to address potential problems.
