Computer Science, Software Development Concentration, M.S.

The Master of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Software Development equips students with strong problem-solving, communication, and team skills to design, implement, and document computer software systems.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment in software development careers is projected to grow by 16% between 2024 and 2034—much faster than the average across all occupations. Our alumni are valued by employers ranging from leading national technology companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Meta to major organizations in Nashville like HCA, Schneider Electric, Deloitte, and Caterpillar. This concentration prepares students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the evolving job market.

Well-equipped computer labs are available for extended hours and also provide 24/7 remote software access. Video conference attendance is possible in some classes. A limited number of graduate assistantships are available.
