An interdisciplinary concentration across the College of Media and Entertainment, Interdisciplinary Media uses the college core and then provides students with options across the college in history, writing, technology, aesthetics, and digital literacy. Students choose an area of emphasis that reflects their professional interests.

Interdisciplinary Media is a dynamic concentration within the College of Media and Entertainment that allows students to tailor their education to their professional interests. Built on the college core, the program offers flexibility with courses across media history, writing, technology, aesthetics, and digital literacy. Students select an area of emphasis, developing expertise in their chosen field while gaining a broad understanding of media industries.
The program encourages exploration and hands-on learning, preparing students for careers that require adaptability and interdisciplinary knowledge. With a curriculum designed to foster critical thinking and practical skills, graduates are equipped to navigate the evolving media landscape.

Media and Entertainment, Interdisciplinary Media Concentration, B.S.
The Interdisciplinary Media concentration prepares students for a wide range of careers in the media and entertainment industries, particularly roles that require adaptability, creativity, and a broad skill set. Students have the opportunity to tailor their curriculum towards a specific career outcome. Potential career paths include:
- Content Creator – Producing multimedia content for digital platforms, social media, or marketing campaigns.
- Media Researcher – Analyzing media trends, audience behavior, and digital literacy.
- Multimedia Journalist – Writing, reporting, and producing stories across multiple media formats.
- Digital Strategist – Developing online content strategies for brands, media companies, and organizations.
- Media Consultant – Advising businesses on media trends, storytelling, and content distribution.
- Creative Director – Overseeing creative projects in advertising, entertainment, or interactive media.
- User Experience (UX) Designer – Enhancing digital experiences through design and technology.
- Production Coordinator – Managing projects in film, television, or digital media production.
- Media Educator – Teaching and developing media literacy programs.
