In recent years society has placed increasing value on programs and services which improve peoples' quality of life. Individuals employed in the provision of recreation and leisure services are among the primary contributors to this effort. At MTSU students majoring in Recreation and Leisure Services prepare for careers working with diverse populations in a wide range of settings. Among the most popular career choices are opportunities in Outdoor Recreation, Recreational Therapy, and Recreation Administration. Additional organizations and other related sectors of the economy. The Recreation and Leisure Services program at MTSU offers a Bachelor of Science degree with concentrations in Outdoor Recreation, Recreational Therapy and Recreation Administration. The Masters of Science in HPER also offers a concentration in Recreation.The Recreation and Leisure Studies program in HHP supports the University's mission of providing quality instruction, placing value on applied research, and developing partnerships with organizations that are responsive to the needs of our students and the greater community. Our goal is to prepare students to enter professional settings that facilitate an optimal quality of life for diverse citizens through the provision of the wide spectrum of recreation and leisure services.
