What is my application status?

You can check your application status by clicking on the Check My Application Status link or by logging into your PipelineMT account and clicking on the Admissions link under your student tab.

Where do I send application materials?


After submitting and paying for your application, your application will be processed by our graduation analysts.  Once this occurs, you will receive an email from the College of Graduate Studies with further admissions instructions.  You will receive your M Number and MTmail account in that email..  Once you receive that information, you can set up your PipelineMT account and login to our Forms to submit missing items.  Please see the "Forms for New Applicants - Admissions Materials" section to upload admissions materials to the College of Graduate Studies.  The email cannot accept attachments.

Please note: All materials received become the property of MTSU and cannot be returned to the student or forwarded to a third party.

How long does it take to receive my admission decision?

Once your file has been completed, we will route it to your program of interest. Some programs respond within a few days but others have specific deadlines. Please check with your program of interest for their timeframe.

Can I submit unofficial copies of admissions documents?

 Yes, we do accept unofficial copies to make the initial admission decision. However, official original transcripts and test scores are required before you will be allowed to register for classes. You will not be eligible for financial aid if your file is not fully complete and an admit to program decision has been issued.

How do I submit a readmission application?

 Go to your pipelineMT account (, click on your student tab, then select admission link. Click the CREATE A NEW APPLICATION link. (Do not click into any previous applications that you have submitted.) On the next page, scroll to the bottom and select the third option "Domestic Readmission to Graduate School" link.


Go to this link (, enter your ID and PIN that you created the first time. Once you have signed in, click on the "NEW" link to create  a new application. DO NOT GO INTO YOUR OLD APPLICATION. On the next page, scroll to the bottom of the screen under Graduate Students and select the 3rd option, "Domestic Readmission to Graduate School".

If you do not remember your log in information, you can click on the "First time user account creation" link and start a new one that way. Passwords are not recoverable.

Have you received my application documents?

Check your application status to see if there is a "Received Date" listed beside the requirement.  If not, then we have not received or completely processed your documents.  Please note that processing documents can take some time; please allow us that time before reaching out about missing items.

What scholarships or funding opportunities are available?

Most scholarships are awarded in spring for the next academic year.  You can see our list of scholarships or learn about becoming a graduate assistant on our Funding page.

Do I need to request MTSU transcripts?

No, we are able to pull your grades through our system. It will show up on your checklist and missing items letters that we need that transcript, but that is just generated on there until we complete that requirement on our end.

How do I submit my other transcripts?

Check to see if your previous instituitions have an online form to send your transcripts electronically. We are able to receive electronic transcripts from Clearinghouse, Escrip, and Parchment. If your instituition does not offer these services, you will be able to upload an unofficial copy of your transcripts to the links on our Forms page. You will be able to log on to all of our forms when you receive your welcome packet.
