PATTERSON NAMED TO C-USA ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

Brett PattersonIRVING, Texas - The 2015 Conference USA Men's Golf All-Academic Team was announced today after a vote by the league's sports information directors for men's golf. The five-man team includes Middle Tennessee's Brett Patterson for the second year in a row.

Victor Lange - Louisiana Tech, Jr., Johannesburg, South Africa, 3.23 GPA in Finance
Brett Patterson* - Middle Tennessee, R-Sr., McMinnville, Tennessee, 4.0 GPA in Business Administration
Drew Kirby - Southern Miss, Sr., Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 3.786 GPA in Accounting
Paul Dunne* - UAB, Sr., Greystones, Ireland, 3.82 GPA in Finance
Martin Simonsen** - UTEP, Sr., Gistrup, Denmark, 3.73 GPA in Finance
 
Patterson boasts a career 73.8 stroke average in 135 rounds. The redshirt senior has 42 rounds of par or better and 10 career top 10 finishes. The McMinnville, Tenn., native is a three-time all-conference and three-time NCAA participant, while garnering C-USA Scholar Athlete of the Year accolades in 2013-14. A business administration major with a flawless 4.0 GPA, Patterson has been named to the Dean's List every semester of his collegiate career.
 
The 2015 Conference USA Men's Golf Championship is April 26-29, with a practice round scheduled for Saturday, April 25. Conference USA is set to become the first NCAA Division I conference to include match play, reflecting the NCAA format, as part of its men's golf league championship. The 13 member schools will play 54 holes of stroke play (April 26-28) on the par 72, 6,935-yard course, with the top four teams advancing to a four-team seeded match play playoff to be conducted Wednesday, April 29. The winning team earns the league's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Men's Golf Championship. This will be the sixth year Texarkana has played host to the men's championship.
