"Every year we strive for excellence on and off the field," Head Coach Aston Rhoden said. "Securing the College Team Academic Award is very important to us as it helps us maintain an academic focus within our program. I'm thankful to our administration for providing such great academic support for our student-athletes. I'm also thankful to my staff, Ms. Carroll, members of the SAEC, as well as our players for continuing our tradition of academic excellence".

The NSCAA annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field. A total of 886 soccer teams (313 men, 573 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA College Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 academic year.

The Blue Raiders' official GPA for the calendar year was an impressive 3.49.

The announcement marks the 14th consecutive time that MT has won the award, a streak that started in 2002.
