LMS Governance Committee
Description
The Canvas Governance Committee is a collaborative body composed of stakeholders from Academic Affairs and the Information Technology Division. The committee oversees Canvas planning, policies, and enhancements to meet the diverse needs of our MTSU community. By fostering open communication and collaborative decision-making, the committee ensures that Canvas remains a robust, user-friendly, and innovative platform for teaching and learning.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Canvas Governance Committee is to guide the development and implementation of the Canvas Learning Management System to support effective, equitable, and engaging educational experiences. We are committed to:
- Upholding Educational Excellence: Advocating for policies and practices that empower faculty and students to achieve their academic goals.
- Promoting User-Centered Innovation: Prioritizing features and updates that enhance usability, accessibility, and functionality for all users.
- Ensuring Community Engagement and Collaboration: Facilitating open dialogue among stakeholders to align Canvas with the evolving needs of MTSU’s educational community.

Training Team
Our Training Team includes members from the Center for Teaching and Mentoring, the Information Technology Division, and MTSU Online. Together, this collaborative group will deliver a variety of training opportunities throughout the transition. Training will be offered in multiple formats to accommodate the diverse needs of our faculty.
