I have a passion for science education. For twenty-one years I taught high school science (biology, chemistry, and physical science) in South Carolina, Tennessee, and California working with students of various ability levels. My educational philosophy is that all students can learn.  It is my responsibility to find the modality that reaches them.

I hold endorsements in biology, chemistry, and physics. On the national level, I served as a textbook reviewer, a reader for the Advanced Placement Biology Exam, and a scorer for the Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA). I also possess national board certification in science.  For five years I taught science education courses at the University of Memphis. My bachelor's in biology and master's degree in biology education are from Furman University located in Greenville, South Carolina.  I am currently studying instructional coaching at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.
