Media and Communication, Middle Tennessee State University) is an adjunct professor in the School of Journalism and Strategic Media at Middle Tennessee State University. She teaches Introduction to Media and Entertainment, focusing on the evolution of media industries, audience engagement, and the impact of digital communication.
Higashide has experience teaching in both university and supplementary school settings. She has assisted in courses by supporting lectures, leading discussions, and evaluating student work. Additionally, she teaches at a Japanese school, where she instructs students in language and writing while helping them develop communication skills in a bilingual environment.
Higashide earned her Master of Science in Media and Communication, with a research focus on social media and young audiences.
