Biography

Shannon Josey, was born and raised in Nashville, Tn. Mrs. Josey attended MTSU where she received a Pre-Law degree, obtaining minors in Health, Psychology and English. She also received her Masters in Health Education from MTSU. Mrs. Josey was Program Planner for the Center for Health and Human Services where she planned anti-tobacco programs for the Tennessee Health Dept. Tobacco Collation. Shannon Josey, was born and raised in Nashville, Tn. Mrs. Josey attended MTSU where she received a Pre-Law degree, obtaining minors in Health, Psychology and English. She also received her Masters in Health Education from MTSU. Mrs. Josey was Program Planner for the Center for Health and Human Services where she planned anti-tobacco programs for the Tennessee Health Dept. Tobacco Collation. During her five year position, she also was an adjunct for MTSU’s HHP Dept. Not anticipating pursuing a career as a college professor, the job as an adjunct became more rewarding than anticipated. She has now taught at MTSU for 18 years. Mrs. Josey is most excited about her ability to promote healthy lifestyle choices among college students that will enhance their health and wellness for a lifetime. Her interest and passion is in the area of behavior change. She has written several Behavior Change manuals and workbooks. Her ultimate goal is to encourage, educate, and motivate the students to be better today than they were yesterday.
