Open Arms Faculty and Staff Fellowship
Welcome
Open Arms is an MTSU approved faculty and staff fellowship formed to promote the True Blue Pledge by engaging in the life of the campus community, encouraging fellow Christian believers, and serving as support for students, faculty, and staff.
Through its meetings and communications, the Fellowship regularly reviews MTSU’s activities, events, and endeavors, and its members discuss ways to encourage, support, and value students, faculty, and staff. After discussing the needs of the campus community, Open Arms employs action steps to contribute to the betterment of MTSU and its stakeholders. Example actions include gathering resources for the Student Food Pantry and welcoming new faculty and staff to MTSU.
Open Arms encourages its membership through meetings, e-mail correspondence, and other communications. The Fellowship enlists speakers for meetings to uplift, support, and encourage Christian believers to positively impact Middle Tennessee State University through acts of service, kindness, and civility. By providing a system of consistent, positive support, Open Arms contributes to the retention of MTSU faculty and staff members.
Members of the Fellowship work with MTSU recognized student ministry organizations to sponsor and promote student activities, events, and endeavors that present the Christian world view, which serves as one of the belief systems and philosophies discussed, reviewed, and analyzed on a diverse college campus. Open Arms meetings promote diversity and unity by being open to all people who wish to discuss, learn, and better understand Christian values, principles, and perspectives.
