This concentration is designed to equip educators to meaningfully gather, interpret, and apply relevant data to improve their practice and empower teachers to enhance their students' ability to think analytically and through the use of data to make data informed action to improve learning.

Administration and Supervision, Leadership in Teaching Data Literacy Concentration, Ed.S.

The Ed.S. in Teacher Leadership for Data Literacy program is part of our varied options in the Administration and Supervision program at MTSU.  This program is designed from an interdisciplinary team including faculty in Colleges of Education and Basic and Applied Sciences, as well as business partners, and also K12 district partners.
Data Science competencies are increasingly important for students to be well prepared for professional opportunities and engage in civic discourse.  The concentration in Teacher Leadership for Data Literacy is designed to:
  • Equip educators to meaningfully gather, interpret, and apply relevant data to improve their practice
  • Empower teachers to enhance their students' ability to think analytically and through the use of data to make data informed action to improve learning

MTSU offers a comprehensive Career Development Center that serves students throughout the full student experience and beyond. They collaborate with faculty and staff to equip students with the tools to be marketable to the world of work and continuing education.
