Chemistry, M.S.

After completion of core coursework in the major sub-disciplines, students in the Chemistry M.S. program have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of research experiences, including analytical, biochemistry, chemical education, computational and theoretical, environmental, nanomaterials, organic synthesis, organometallic catalysis, or polymers.

We also offer a concentration in Chemistry Analytics in the M.S. in Professional Science. The research experience is considerably enhanced by MTSU's 250,000-square-foot science building and upgraded instrumentation. Graduates find employment in a wide range of areas and about half continue their education in high-quality doctoral and/or professional programs. The department also participates in three interdisciplinary Ph.D. programs (Molecular Biosciences, Computational Science, and Mathematics and Science Education).
