Academic Advising

The English Department offers academic advisement to students interested in a major in English. Advisors try to work closely with students to guide them through their years at MTSU. Students are expected to meet with their advisors at least once a semester, shortly before or during pre-registration.

Advisors will help students select courses, plan schedules, and make other academic decisions. The advisor can be a mentor who will assist student with career planning and even provide guidance on other matters. Advisors are provided with information about university resources, deadlines etc.

Students are assigned advisors by the Upper Division Office. New majors and prospective majors should contact the Upper Division Office (615-898-2576) to be assigned an advisor. For continuing students, the name of the advisor will be on the student's Raidernet information.
