MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee junior centerfielder Ronnie Jebavy has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team for combined performances
athletically and in the classroom.
Jebavy was named First Team Academic All-District in District 3 by the College Sports
Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). First-team Academic All-District honorees
advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second-
and third-team All-America honorees will be selected.
Jebavy sports an impressive 3.85 GPA and majors in Concrete Management with a minor
in Business Administration.
"This is quite an honor, and I'm excited to be included on this list," Jebavy said.
"I take great pride in my academics and it has always been important for me to do
well in the classroom. It's neat to be recognized for what you do in the classroom,
as well as what you do in your chosen sport."
The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native has started all 48 games this season and was named
to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and also earned a C-USA Commissioner's Academic
Medal in 2015.
"Ronnie has had an exceptional year on the field for us, but he has also been a quality
student," Middle Tennessee Head Coach Jim McGuire said. "Ronnie is a very intelligent person and he takes pride in his classwork. It
shows and this is a great honor for him."
The C-USA Player of the Year candidate has 26 multi-hit games and has at least one
hit in 38 of 48 games. Jebavy is currently fifth in C-USA for batting average (.345),

In C-USA only games, Jebavy leads the league in batting average (.385), hits (37)
and stolen bases (9), sixth in doubles (7), seventh in slugging percentage, seven
in on-base percentage (.439) and tird for third in triples (2).
His seven outfield assists are tied for eighth in the country and his defensive prowess
has been displayed on ESPN's SportsCenter, where two of his outstanding web gems have
been ranked No. 6 and No. 4, respectively, on the show's Top 10 Plays of the Day segment.
Jebavy joins UAB's Tyler Mims (District 4) and Rice's Kirby Taylor (District 7) as
the only C-USA Players to be named Academic All-District.
