Frank Dremel is an audio producer, educator, and technologist specializing in digital audio, MIDI production, and electronic music performance. He teaches courses in Pro Tools, MIDI-based composition, and Ableton Live, helping students develop both technical fluency and creative range.
Dremel’s teaching emphasizes hands-on learning and cross-DAW workflows, encouraging students to engage critically with sound design, composition, and mixing. He is especially passionate about the educational value of accurate sound-alike recordings, viewing them as a modern counterpart to master studies in the arts. He believes this approach helps students build critical listening skills, stylistic fluency, and deeper production technique.
Outside the classroom, Dremel has mastered projects for Spring Fed Records, the in-house label of MTSU’s Center for Popular Music, contributed to student-led releases through Match Records, and presented pedagogical research at national conferences. He stays active in emerging trends in music and technology, bringing a forward-thinking but grounded perspective to his teaching.
