Mark Weiss received his BS in Recording Industry with a concentration in Music Business, and his two minors in Mass Communications and in Entertainment Technology at MTSU. 

For over 25 years, he has worked for various labels including RCA Label Group, 615 Music, Grand Vista, and the Big Machine Label Group. He has worked with publishing companies, big and small, including BMG, Sony Music, Harlan Howard Songs, and Ten Ten Music.

Mark Weiss received his BS in Recording Industry with a concentration in Music Business, and his two minors in Mass Communications and in Entertainment Technology at MTSU. 

For over 25 years, he has worked for various labels including RCA Label Group, 615 Music, Grand Vista, and the Big Machine Label Group. He has worked with publishing companies, big and small, including BMG, Sony Music, Harlan Howard Songs, and Ten Ten Music.

Mark has worked with various songwriters, including Paul Overstreet (“When You Say Nothing At All”; “Some Beach”, etc.) and legendary songwriter – Harlan Howard ( “I Fall To Pieces”, “Heartaches By The Number”, “Tiger By The Tail”, etc.), and Mark has hosted a morning radio show called “Music In The Making – highlighting the music industry, new songwriters, and the hit-makers.

Mark has worked with Music Supervisors on movie placements, as well as promos, trailers, and commercials. He has also worked with demo studios and recording studios in Miami, Minneapolis, Nashville, and Atlanta. And Mark has experienced non-traditional areas of the music industry – including 615 Music (Production Music Library) and Viacom (Broadcast & Streaming).

Mark’s states that it his desire to use his interest, experience, and knowledge to best educate and equip the students with a desire and the resources that will help lead each of them to a successful and fulfilling career upon graduation from MTSU.
