Undergraduate Philosophy Conferences

Johns Hopkins University’s first annual Richard Macksey National Undergraduate Humanities Research Symposium.  Here's the main web site and here is the application portal. The deadline for submissions is 15 February 2022. The symposium is scheduled to meet virtually via Zoom

  • Summer Cusp, a workshop for undergraduate students in philosophy who are planning to continue to graduate school. Applications are due 1 April 2019. All expenses covered if accepted. Brochure and Flyer.

Harold and Carolyn (Jump) Slatton Endowed Scholarship
Purpose and Guidelines: 

This scholarship recognizes the achievements of Dr. Bonnie Slatton, an outstanding female higher education academician, who created this scholarship to encourage others to pursue a degree in higher education with an interest in Liberal Arts.

This is a general scholarship and to be eligible for consideration students must:

Full time student in CLA
First preference given to CLA major, second preference to a CLA minor
2.5 minimum GPA

To be considered for the scholarship, please email a brief statement of interest that includes eligibility (i.e., status as full-time, major/minor, and GPA) to Dr. Meredith Dye, Associate Dean, CLA, Please include the student M# and MTSU email address.

Deadline to apply: August 15, 2022

The number and amounts of scholarships will be determined by the CLA Dean this AY year based on the applicant pool. Scholarship amounts may vary from small ($500) to larger awards ($2500). Undergraduate and graduate students will be considered for the scholarships.

Truman Scholarship.Interested students must graduate December 2021 to August 2022 (or later) with a 3.0 GPA or higher. A Truman Scholar is someone who is a “Change Agent” in our society.  The internal deadline is October 30, 2020.
