2035 Strategic Plan

Strategic Plan Framework Survey

The Strategic Planning Committee wants your feedback on the proposed MTSU Strategic Plan Framework. Please note that this framework is precisely that – a framework for guiding institutional priorities and action. The next steps will be to develop a concrete action plan that aligns with these strategies and initiatives in order to make progress toward achieving these priorities. More information about the context that informed the framework is available in the Institutional and Environmental Context Themes document linked on this page.

Please click the link to complete the Strategic Plan Framework Survey. The survey will take approximately five minutes to complete and remain open until Friday, September 20.

We appreciate your active participation in shaping the university’s future.

Strategic Plan 2035

In fall of 2023, President McPhee and Provost Byrnes launched an integrated strategic planning process designed to unite our three existing plans (the Quest for Student SuccessAcademic Master Plan, and the 2015-2025 MTSU Strategic Plan) into a single institutional Strategic Plan 2035.

The 2035 integrated strategic planning process is organized around four pillars:

  • Academic Quality
  • Student Success
  • Engagement
  • Innovation

Goals, strategies, and metrics for each of these pillars are being developed by subcommittees that include broad representation from faculty, staff, students, and alumni and community leaders. A complete timeline is available under the Development tab.

All members of the University community are invited to participate in development of the strategic plan through activities such as:

  • Responding to the mission review survey (September and November 2023)
  • Attending town halls and focus group sessions in spring of 2024, and
  • Reviewing and responding to drafts of the strategic plan in fall of 2024.

We invite you to visit this page often to keep updated about the activities of the Strategic Plan Committee and how you can become involved.
