Classroom Specifications

Listed below are the estimated costs for different types of classrooms on the MTSU Campus. For a TAF proposal, list Classroom Equipment and the dollar amount of the type you are requesting as a line item. Optional items must be listed in the proposal as line items to receive TAF funding.  If you have other A/V needs, please contact James Copeland at [email protected] before January 10, 2025, for those estimates.

Note that the costs associated with floor coverings, security locks for doors, furniture, window treatments, lighting, electrical or data, whiteboards, or other necessary room improvements are NOT included on this list. Contact Terri Carlton in Construction and Renovation ([email protected]) for cost estimates on these essential items.  Contact should be made by January 10, 2025, to ensure you have an estimate before the deadline.  For a TAF proposal, list Construction and the total amount of the estimate provided.

Additional technology and/or discipline-specific equipment may be included, but it must be specified in the request to receive funding.

Classroom Budgeting Numbers

Standard options include the following: Lectern, AV Switcher/Control Processor, Control System Touch Panel, Recording System, Auto Tracking Camera for Instructor, Ceiling mounted Microphone, Assisted Listening System, USB-C Laptop interface, Touch Monitor for Lectern, and Wireless AV

Option 1 (1-3 display/projector capable) – 1 display (standard 86”) or 1 projector/screen (110”) *$35,000 

• Add 2nd display(86”) or projector +$7,000 
• Add rear display(75” confidence) +$5,200  

Option 2 (4-7 display/projector capable) – Front wall 2 displays (standard 86” or 2 projectors/screens (110”)) and 2 additional 86” side/rear displays *$55,000 

• Add +$7,000 for each additional 86” display up to a total of 7 displays 
• Upgrade to a 98″ display for either option add $3,000

*An effort will be made to reuse any equipment that meets our standard and does not exceed its life expectancy.
