This request is to add equipment/software to COE 110 classroom for the benefit of COE graduate and undergraduate programs including teacher training/certification. These changes will provide two independent screens, 25 iMacs, 25 iPads with common core based apps, and an Apple TV. Murfreesboro City Schools, where many of our Residency 1 and 2 teacher candidates gain experience, extensively use iMacs and iPads. Surrounding counties utilize iPads where many of our students complete their Residency 2 experience. Providing iMac and iPad experience before and during Residency 1 and 2 gives teacher candidates the ability to become familiar with the Apple ecosystem. They will have the opportunity to experience and analyze apps that are appropriate within the K-6 environment. Using iMacs and iPads will enable teacher candidates opportunities to analyze, implement, and problem-solve using technology that many of our K-12 partners already are using in their prospective schools.
