Upgrade of Existing Technology

The HPERS department is requesting the InSight System for use in its Master Classroom in Murphy Center 100A. This master classroom is one of the only Master Classroom's on campus that has a PC for each student in the class (28 student stations). With the existing system, it is increasingly difficult to monitor and give feedback to each student. The InSight system will allow the teacher to display course material directly to the students' monitors in real-time. This will allow instructors to provide efficient, well-paced instruction by: 1) sharing screens in real time (instructor to any student/group, student to student, or student to instructor), 2) remotely controlling any student's keyboard or mouse, 3) randomly scanning computers to monitor progress, and 4) blanking out screens for full attention. The InSight System is almost identical to the system currently being used in the Master Classrooms in the new library (Room 272 & 264A). Murphy Center 100A is used by several classes (HLTH 439, HLTH/REC/PHED 460/560, HLTH 460L, REC 460L, PHED 460L, PHED 670, HLTH 610, HLTH 712) each semester that comprise different majors. Currently 114 students attend class in MC100A for the spring semester.
