The upgrading of technology and reconfiguration of the LRC 201 computer classroom is necessary to meet the course requirements for the mandated Tennessee Board of Regents Ready2Teach Residency courses. This master classroom would serve approximately 600 Residency I and Residency II students annually in meeting multiple course requirements, including the TBR-mandated edTPA assessment, TEAM evaluation, TK20, D2L, video-editing, and key assessments. In addition, faculty and adjunct supervisors would utilize the space in conjunction with the Residency courses. In order to meet the Residency course requirements, it is imperative that teacher candidates have access to a master classroom with updated computer facilities, including the teacher station, that allow for both computer use and classroom instruction. The existing COE Tandberg video-conferencing system will be integrated into the AMX control system to allow Residency students remote access for off-site cohorts. In addition, the purchase of 24 Surface Pro 3 tablets for student use would allow flexibility in delivery of instruction and maximize the number of Residency students who could receive instruction in adjoining COE classrooms, LRC 101 and 200.This proposal would enhance the capability of the College of Education to ensure that all teacher candidates in the Residency program meet the Tennessee Board of Regents Ready2Teach program and course requirements for graduation and recommendation for teaching licensure
