The multimedia lab that accompanies the Journalism reporting course has equipment that needs to be replaced, due to wear and tear, and also from technology changes. We are currently using equipment that was purchased four to five years ago. In particular we are in need of new video equipment, as the cameras we use now are tape-based instead of recording data to SD cards. In addition, we need a free standing light kit. Currently all of our lights are on-camera kits, which are inadequate in situations. All of this equipment is used for classroom instruction only
