In the College of Basic and Applied Science the Department of Concrete Industry Management and Construction Management Program are being merged to create the School of Building Science beginning in the Fall 2016. This creates a first priority need for a dedicated computer lab/classroom for multiple sections of CIM and CMT courses using industry related software. Currently CIM has no priority access to a computer classroom and shared facilities housed within the ET Department are no longer adequate for this purpose, nor have they been for the past two years. The additional enrollment within the CMT major classes alone has necessitated several classes each semester requiring dedicated computer space to seek facilities outside of the department across campus during the past year, and those facilities do not have the necessary software required of those classes. Combining these programs necessitates the immediate need for the availability of a priority instructional computer lab/classroom. This TAF request is to convert MGB 303 from a standard Master Classroom (currently equipped as a Physics Lab) to a Master Classroom with computer stations for twenty-six (26) students. This proposal also includes the installation of two (2) networked printers to be used for the lab. The computers will be loaded with industry specific software that will serve over 300 students annually.
