Project includes a storage cabinet with 30 laptops for use in Bragg 149. Recording Industry does not have a computer lab, which is badly needed for courses such as Music Publishing Administration, Publicity in the Recording Industry, and others. Students in these courses are asked to develop and publish blogs, edit video content, create assets for social media and learn royalty accounting and database management. These computers would allow for a seamless transition from a traditional lecture space to a computer lab as needed. Also included in this project is Bragg 155. It is the “workhorse” classroom for the EMC department and has not been upgraded since the building opened in 1991. This proposal includes the addition of fifteen computers to the five computers that are already present. It also provides for the replacement of the chairs and tables in the room – which appear to have been in service since 1991. After consulting with Tom Wallace of ITD, he suggests an increase in WIFI coverage in order for 30 computers to be active at once in the classroom space.
