Renovation BRAGG 149 to increase space usage/provide flexibility & versatility.The current configuration of the tiered structure & permanent seats/desks is limiting. Much of the space is not used due to dead corners & student sight lines for presentations by faculty are limited. (student sitting in the left side of the room cannot see a presentation because the faculty must stand between the desk & white board) Group work is nearly impossible & student/faculty interaction is limited, especially with students on top two tiers. This room represents 50% of the available rooms utilized by music business classes, maximum flexibility is needed to facilitate multiple class types & teaching methods. The laptop cart could be better utilized, allowing the room to be configured as a computer lab so it can host the major field test every semester. With the addition of projection/camera/video conferencing equipment, guest speakers can have two-way communication with classes from anywhere in the world contributing to a library of information that could be uploaded for future viewing. With the new configuration and enhanced technology, room 149 could be positioned as a model teaching environment for years to come.
