THEA 4480 is an automated lighting course where students learn the principles of designing, installing, and programming luminaries for live theatre and live concert. Chain hoists are needed to ensure proper training in concert and live theatrical rigging operations. Having a CNC router for use in productions will allow us to grant students a unique opportunity that is rare in an undergraduate program. An increasing number of professional companies are investing in CNC router for the time and material savings advantage.
