The Child Development Center offers practicum experiences to College of Education students (early childhood majors) in either the infant/toddler or preschool classroom (rooms 115 and 117 in the Fairview Bldg). These students are future teachers in elementary or early childhood classrooms. Up to 50 students enroll in ECE 4300 and 4380 (25 each per semester) and work in the CDC each semester (100 for school year). Coursework for each class requires students to videotape various lessons and activities that are viewed and critiqued by their professor as well as the students. We are requesting the installation of a practicum student observation system in Fairview 113 and 117 to allow the faculty and students in the Early Childhood program to observe and record student interactions and lessons with children in the Child Development Center. The system will be comprised of 2-3 closed circuit video cameras with microphones. The cost below includes installation.
