The James E. Walker Library at MTSU is the intellectual center for MTSU students and is a reflection of the University's commitment to education and research. Walker Library is the largest open computer lab on campus. We have over 400 computers available for student use (mostly purchased by TAF). We would like to replace some of the laptops which we check out for student use; they are old and out of warranty. We would like to purchase two high end computers to add to our DMS/Makerspace area in order to give students more machines for use with computer aided design (CAD), high end multimedia applications, and mixed reality viewing and software development. We are requesting monitors, cabling, and stands for these two machines plus four more monitors to give dual monitor capability to existing machines. We are also requesting memory and storage upgrades for existing high end computers. We would like to add a special mouse designed for CAD and graphic modeling work to these machines. We are also asking for one high end scanner for this area. Thank you for considering this project.
