The departments of Concrete and Construction Management and Engineering Technology are teaming up for a discipline specific equipment request that will benefit their undergraduate and graduate students. Technology is changing rapidly in both fields and we have the opportunity to acquire a 3D printer that can be adaptable to both engineering applications and building science applications. In addition, the rapid pace of drone technology in the engineering and construction fields warrants a shared drone for surveying, safety and project design and layout. The departments have multiple courses that this class would impact. CIM 3100, CIM 3090, CCM 3500, CCM 4200 = 175 students annually. ET 4701, ET 4790, ET 4803, ET 4802 = 96 students annually. In addition, the departments would increase visibility and success in research proposals, experimental vehicle program and extracurricular construction projects for students. This equipment would be stored in VET 115 which is a room near both ET and SCCM. The impact totals nearly 300 students per year in courses plus all the extracurricular and scholarly activities that can benefit from these devices.
