This proposal requests funding for Technology Based Open Innovative Learning Space. The Economics & Finance department offers space (BAS N330) with university-wide access for the following multiple uses: - Individual study with computer access - Group study area - Collaboration on class projects - Supplemental instruction - Video conferencing - Webinar broadcasts - Tutoring - Informal learning - Faculty individualized instruction - Faculty advising for career development - Student organization officer meetings We are requesting technology to accomplish these uses. This will enable students to collaborate in person and virtually. It will also provide computer access for students working individually. The College of Business has proposed and is expecting construction funding to further enhance this space and make it more inviting for students. Three computer areas are planned, in addition to large monitors, camera and computers with digital signage and video conferencing capabilities. A card swipe system will allow university-wide student access and security. Room occupancy is 21.
