When comparing statistics for the School of Nursing's Computer Lab, there has been an increase in the usage by approximately 40% from Fall 1999 to Fall 2000. This is a result of the increase in the number of required upper division courses using CourseInfo (12 out of 13), and the addition of five web-based and 3 web-enhanced courses. Currently, the Lab is open from 7:30 AM-5:00 PM, when staff and faculty attempt to be available to assist students and monitor the Lab. The School of Nursing is asking for monies to supply the lab with two part-time student workers so that students will be able to access the Lab an additional 18 hours per week or 700 hours per calendar year and have consistent coverage during regular hours. This expansion would enable the Lab to be open four evenings per week and on Saturdays. The 200 upper division nursing students use the Computer Lab for assigned computer activities and to access required programs that complement their courses. Recent graduates also return to use the programs to prepare them for the state board examination for RN Licensure.
