Student Unions request funding for an LCD data projector with computer interface, to be permanently installed on the ceiling in the Tennessee Room of the James Union Building. The projector would be utilized as an instrument to present and to convey educational material to mass audiences. We feel this will be beneficial for student organizations and student affiliated committees (i.e. Customs) who use the facility for conferences, lectures, and social events that would require power-point presentation, video clips, and live video feeds. An example of committees and organizations that will directly benefit would be; MTSU Fashion Show, Women's Leadership Conference, New Student Orientation, Community Service Awards / RATV Production class, SGA Banquet, and Greek Banquets that just names a few. The students that would be indirectly affected by this would be the participants of these functions. Special consideration has to be made because of the brightness of the room during daylight hours. Thus, a special higher quality and brigher projector needs to be acquired to solve this problem.
