The campus network infrastructure is constantly in need up upgrades to keep pace with the increasing demands for bandwidth and services by the University community. All new data connections are installed at 100 Mb Switched Ethernet, yet much of the University is still running on very slow 10 Mb shared networks. MTSU is migrating all network users to the current high speed Ethernet backbone. Migration of classroom buildings to the high speed Ethernet backbone is essential for offering the goal of higher speed network and Internet access for MTSU students. The equipment in this proposal will continue that migration; specifically, high speed Ethernet ports will be available in the LRC, Wiser-Patton, and Business Aerospace.
