BAS S316 is a 60-seat classroom with the same basic technology that was initially put into place when the classroom was first available in 1997. This room is primarily used to teach Business Law courses. In the Fall 2019, 546 students in 12 courses were served through our department in this classroom. In the spring 2020 semester, 456 students in 12 courses are being served by our courses. When not used by our department, S316 is highly requested for use with the popular Recording Industry Program to teach Copyright law. Assuming 19 class periods, BAS S316 could potentially reach 1,140 (19 x 60) students each semester. This room is also regularly used at our annual Accounting Alumni Appreciation Day in April for returning CPAs. The technology proposed in the upgrade of the classroom will allow faculty to have access to modern technology in which to better inform students. This "Smart" classroom will have a camera and microphone for lecture capture recording as well as a newer computer, laser projector, computer station and other essentials of a master classroom. Law courses are very complex with a lot of information to be projected. The current technology breaks down often and is of poor quality. Faculty and students often complain of disruptions to their learning as some piece of equipment is always breaking down.
